Female Mold
Male model and volcanic eruption
The decision taken was to make a good master model, then make a female mold using resin material. Expected to produce a detailed mold surface in accordance with the master model.

Long enough for us to prepare model of wood and enjoy making every detail. Model is made of wood, several layers of filler to close the pores and a thin layer of paint, finally pieces of tape to add detail.

All is ready, the awaited moment has arrived. We will bury the master model with large numbers of resin. Taking advantage of the resin flakes from the previous production in anticipation of extreme depreciation would happen. We pour the mixture of a long curing time resin. Looks like a pudding at a wedding party.

As usual at first, what happened next was unexpected. The process of heat due to chemical reactions in such a high. Resin begins to harden, the cracks occur due to extreme heat, some gaps out bursts of smoke and gases, there is also the issue of fluid heat, it is a boiling liquid paints.
Really like the volcanic activity, noticed smoke at the right dough.

You know the continuance of this story. The result is really disappointing and inaccurate, there was shrinkage and bending occur. Shrinkage occurs in the mold, about 4-6 mm of the length they should be. So that happened on the second mold. In conclusion, this method does not need to be repeated again. Negatives should be made directly with the CNC. This process can seriously damage the model.

Female mold machining requires 3D models 'negative', in which the process of making the relatively more troublesome than the positive model, the 3D modeler must know this. We prepare two mold of the previous process and close the cracks with resin.

We process with CNC until finally like the following picture. Several layers of thin paint on the molding, so that surface quality can be observed. Take a look at some holes for air escapement.
